What are cookies?

Cookies we use on this site

We only set the following cookies on this site:

• sessionid — Essential (Authentication/Session cookie).
  Purpose: Keeps you logged in and maintains your session on the server. Without this cookie you cannot sign in or access Player-only features.
  Provider: this site. Expires: browser session (removed when you close your browser) unless you opt to keep the session longer via your browser.
• csrftoken — Essential (Security cookie).
  Purpose: Used by Django to protect forms and AJAX endpoints from Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. This cookie is required for safe form submissions and logged-in actions.
  Provider: this site. Expires: typically long-lived (set by Django) and renewed automatically.
• sb_cookie_consent — Preference cookie (Consent).
  Purpose: Stores whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies so we don't show the banner on every visit. This cookie does not track you across other sites.
  Provider: this site. Expires: 1 year.

Third-party cookies

We do not set third-party analytics or advertising cookies by default. If you load external content that sets its own cookies (for example when visiting an external partner page), those cookies are controlled by the third party. At present we do not enable Google Analytics or similar services on the main site.

Why cookies are needed for logged-in Players

When you are logged in as a Player we rely on sessionid and csrftoken to authenticate you and provide player-specific features: viewing and editing your profile, creating and tracking stringing jobs, messaging, and protected AJAX actions. If you decline non-essential cookies (the consent cookie), the core authenticated functionality will continue to work, but we will not remember your banner choice and some optional convenience features may be limited.

Use the cookie banner to Accept or Decline consent for non-essential cookies. Essential cookies (session and CSRF) are required for login and secure operation and cannot be disabled without losing functionality.
